The Rowthorn Fund

The Rowthorn Fund

What is the Rowthorn Fund?

Since 2003, The Rowthorn Fund has supported the work of the Convocation, with special attention given to the needs of mission congregations, mission initiatives, and growing our ministry to young people.

Members and supporters of the Convocation originally established the fund to honor the ministries of Bishop Jeffery and his wife, Dr. Anne Rowthorn. The fund was launched upon Bishop Rowthorn's retirement as bishop-in-charge of the Convocation.

Over the years, it has provided a modest, but steady stream of income that permits the Convocation to make small grants and provide support for certain programs.

Last year, which Convocation projects and programs benefited from the Rowthorn Fund?

Convocation-wide youth events. From Waterloo to St. Goar, to Berlin… This spring, young people from across the Convocation participated in one of three very successful weekend-long events:

1) Who are you? TCK, Peacemaker, Servant, Christian? -- a YAE event for 13-19 year olds

2) The River of Life, an event for 10-13 year-olds (Jr. Youth)

3) We Believe. I Doubt. Finding God in Your 20s. (For young adults through age 29)

Support for Mission Congregations. Convocation grants are helping small mission congregations with their special needs…from establish new church communities to calling a first priest..

Thank you for your support for The Rowthorn Fund and for the many grants and projects that it helps to fund!
