To our friends across the Convocation,

Judy and I are still in awe of the amazing events planned, organized, and carried off with such grace and joy by so many people during our weekend of celebrations and thanksgivings. You have all achieved the remarkable feat of bringing our sisters and brothers throughout the whole of the church to realize that the Episcopal Church in Europe is the most interesting, the most energetic, the most mission-focused, and the most fun corner of our entire church. That is no small thing, and you have every reason to be proud of the outcome of the time together you made possible.

Presiding Bishop Curry has spoken to me of how tremendously impressed he was with the togetherness of the whole Convocation both in giving thanks for Bishop Whalon’s long and dedicated leadership and in extending to us this warm and helpful welcome. For these and for countless words of support and goodwill, we are mindful in our prayers of our deep gratitude for the joyful and inspiring beginning you have given to us.
