Upcoming Youth Commission Events:
Youth Across Europe (YAE) Event - Ages 15-19
YAE to join the 2020 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE), July 5-12 in College Park, Maryland USA
Every three years, the Episcopal Church holds a world-wide event for Youth and this year we are joining the party. The Convocation has been setting money aside for the past three years in order to pay for the travel of 10 youth along with chaperones to the 2020 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE). This event is for youth 15-19 years of age at the time of the event. Because this event is every three years, those youth who are 14 this year will be able to go again in 2023. This year, we will allow all 14 year-old youth to join our Juniors Across Europe event in Rome (see below).
The event will be located at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. We will travel on Sunday, July 5th and return on Sunday, July 12th, and the cost for room and board for Convocation participants will be €500. A deposit of €100 is due on January 19th. More details will be released by the beginning of the year. Check back on this page: Registration will be open from January 5 - January 12 for our Convocation youth.

Young Adult Event - Ages 20-19
April 17 - 19: Vocare weekend retreat for young adults near Berlin, Germany
The Council of Anglican Episcopal Churches in Germany (CAECG) together with the Convocation Youth Commission are joint sponsors next year of a retreat from 17 - 19 April 2020 especially for young adults. VOCARE is a weekend retreat for young adults at the Feriendorf Gross Väter See in Templin near Berlin. More information on the location is found on: https://www.feriendorf-gross-vaeter-see.de. "Vocare" is the Latin word from which we derive the English word vocation--calling. This weekend is not about career development or looking at how to be successful in the world. This weekend is a quiet moment away from the world in order to discover God's calling for your life- your reason for existence. Vocare is a long-standing program of the Episcopal Church, originally from the Episcopal Diocese of Florida. Registration is by email to and will be open until March 1, 2020. See the attached flyer for more details.

Youth Ministry in the Convocation
A welcoming place
The church is a place where young people can experience welcome, sense belonging, and find moral and peer support; all just as they are seeking to discover who they are and to find their place in the world. It is the job of the church to help equip them on this journey -- to help them to share the love of Christ creatively, sensitively, and powerfully, as they come to experience God’s presence in their own lives.
The members of the Youth Commission are passionate in their desire to reach young people across Europe. The Commission focuses on
Embracing a program for lifelong Christian formation
For many years now – first through the leadership of the Commission on the Ministry of the Baptized, and now under the Youth Commission, the Convocation has been working to develop Convocation-wide formation opportunities for young people, such as the annual ‘Youth Across Europe’ weekend.
Recently, the Convocation embraced the implementation of The Episcopal Church’s Charter for Lifelong Formation. To that end, the Youth Commission is in the process of expanding youth ministries to include a wider age group. At the same time, they are creating networks of support for teachers and leaders. Newer Commission program offerings
In an effort to expand the Convocation's programmatic reach to include young adults, 20-29 years of age, the ever-ambitious Commission has added yet a fourth 'pilot project' to its strategic planning agenda, the 20s' Retreat.
